Ice Fishing Perch

The Perch species is very closely related to the
walleye species.
The perch you want to try and catch are the perch
refered to as the jumbo perch. These perch are only found in sound
lakes. You just have to get lucky!
When you're ice fishing for perch, you should be
using a spoon or small jig to fish near the bottom - no more than
one foot off the bottom (6" is best). |

When looking to ice fish perch, the key is
finding them. Perch tend to stick with each other, so if you find
one perch, brace yourself for more!
If the perch are biting really well, sometimes you don't need to
bring your bait right to the bottom again. The agressive perch
usually will meet your bait whilst its on the way down.
Perch are usually in the flats during the early part of the ice
fishing season.
